Good question, Megan - we'll have to look into that. It seems that many drastic changes in our bodies (or not so drastic!) can trigger migraine. If you're right, it wouldn't make stress a direct trigger, but just another thing triggering those changes which in turn can trigger migraine.

"Stress letdown" is probably a combination of a lot of things - there are usually changes in schedule involved, diet, activity, etc.

Good observation. :)

James - I keep wondering if anyone has studied or will study a link between the stress hormones - cortisol and epinephrine, and Migraine triggers. I'd be curious as to whether stress isn't a trigger not psychologically, per se, but physiologically in the form of stress hormones. After all, Migraineurs are vulnerable to other sorts of hormonal changes! This might explain the "stress let-down" Migraine that so many Migraineurs report - the sudden Migraine when the stressful or exciting event is over.
