It’s easy to think coffee is primarily about caffeine, but there are dozens of components of coffee. The recommendations don’t identify which components do what!

I’m playing with so-called bulletproof coffee using decaf. It’s tasty! I need a better quality decaf though.

Yes, that’s an excellent insight, Parin. You’re exactly right. The report was very vague about what part of the coffee was actually a benefit, and in some cases whether coffee was as good as tea or not. A bunch of very different reports were lumped together.

Yes, there do seem to be some benefits (for some people), but exactly why is going to be up for debate for quite a while.

I drink only 1 cuppa, made with just over 1 tablespoon of Green Mountain French Vanilla, going into a reusable K-cup every day. Add vanilla soy milk and stevia for sweetness for a healthy latte at the same time every day–when I wake up at 1pm, since I work nights. That’s my caffiene “allowance”.

(Regular K-cups of Green Mountain French Vanilla come with 2 tablespoons of coffee. I broke one open and measured it, as I wanted to better control my intake with the reusable K-cups.)

On rare occasions I will allow myself a diluted cuppa Bigelow’s Green Tea (one bag, extended into a larger glass of iced tea, no sugar/stevia–I love green tea as-is) in the same day.
