Yes, well - "proven to control migraines" means proven to control some people's - often those same people's that could be controlled by other medications and treatments. We understand that - the biggest frustration, I think, comes when people (who don't have migraine) read the news reports and see so many options and don't understand why everyone isn't 100% "cured"....

Though there are great options for most people, it just isn't that easy for everyone.

It really aggravates me when I read articles from migraine and headache doctors who write that a certain medication or certain numerous medications are " proven" to control migraines. My migraines are severe and UNPREDICTABLE even tho people out there talk numerously about triggers some apply to me and many don't. My migraines almost seem to have a " mind" of their own. And when they arrive, they arrive for days. I have been to many varied doctors which include migraine doctors, neurologists, etc. You name it I've been there. The meds are almost as bad as the migraines themselves. Right now, Treximet is the miracle drug for me it works but I still cannot function when I take it for a few hours, I must lie down and sleep until the pain stops. So, for many out there with migraines some of these new meds may indeed work for them, for me, they do not so until they find a proven cure I have to just try to live with this illness.
