Headaches and Migraine: Life Interrupted (poll responses)
What have you missed out on because of a headache or migraine attack? That was our most recent poll question. Here are the responses:
As you can see, it’s the family that suffers most. Family events accounted for at least 42% of events missed, including holiday get-togethers, weddings and funerals. Work related events such as job interviews got over 12%. And those enjoyable outings like concerts or sports events were missed by 11%.
Of course, the poll was asking what the most important event was that you’ve missed. This will vary from person to person. But it should also be pointed out that most of us miss many of these events, not just one.
Perhaps more often than not, we still attend the event, but do not enjoy it / are less productive / don’t really appreciate it.
Thanks for your responses! Would you like to share about a specific event that you’ve missed? Leave a comment!

I have been present at family and work w/o being fully or 100% engaged. Migraines cause me, personally to be withdrawn, quiet , unresponsive and, nonsocial to the point it is noticeable and caused misunderstandings. Being present and doing what’s required isn’t all that is needed from individuals when they are there. When you have a migraine that is all you have to give sometimes and that goes without being understood. Thank You.
