It’s the hair spray
Did you ever think that your hair spray, mousse, gel or cream may be causing headaches? Of course you did. But I’m not just talking about the odor. After your hairspray dries, it may flake ever so slightly and drift down into your eyes and into your nose. You may wonder what’s causing the problem, you might not even notice.
I write from personal experience on this one. I get sore eyes, that are in some way related to the migraine attacks I get. Well, after years I discovered that one thing that made the problem much worse was – my mousse. It just bothered my eyes.
So if you’ve got sore eyes and headaches, try changing your hair products. You might be surprised at the results!

I was also getting headaches on a regular basis and couldn’t figure it out because I wasn’t using the same hairspray, but would get migraines. My nose would become congested and then here comes the migraine!
I finally determined it to be the cause of my headache when I had changed shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, and body wash, in a variety of combinations to discover it was ANY aerosol hairspray. Apparently that is what causes my allergies, so now I use a pump spray!
Glad to see I’m not the only one playing musical hair in the shower.

I too get headaches from hairspray. I recently changed brands and went from aerosol to pump and still get headaches. Guess I will have to go back to using gel ????

I too have been having migraines from using either hairspray or mousse! It has been many years now, and I can guarantee 100% to get headaches as soon as I use them! I don’t know if it has to do with a certain chemical that we don’t know much about, if not at all! I usually just popped 3 ibuprofen pills and the headache would go away, but only 90% of it, and remaining 10% I have to shampoo my hair! Does anyone know of a brand that is much lighter to go on our hair and does not cause migraines?
