Shrove Tuesday (and the world’s worse promoter)
I guess I’m not the most brilliant when it comes to promoting an event. I keep talking about the Migraine World Summit, and cleverly forget to mention when it is!
But, as you may have seen on social media this morning, I was reminded by Shrove Tuesday. Yes, Shrove Tuesday. Which is a traditional day to use up and get rid of unwanted things in your life before lent. Of course, traditions such as “Pancake Tuesday” were designed to get rid of fat in the house – but symbolic of bad things that you want to get out of your life (by the way, I’m trying this pancake recipe today, with whipped cream and fresh blackberries as a topping, but leaving out the Stevia and sugar).
Anyway, I was dreaming about how nice it would be to give up migraine and headaches for lent – and hey, as the idea really is – forever. Yes, how nice it would be if today were the last migraine day forever!
But of course we can be proactive – learning as much as we can, and taking steps to understand the current science and the best treatments. And that brings me back to the summit – which of course I still have said nothing about. Brilliant.
Ok, here it goes, and I’ll even try bold and large text, since I’ve kept you waiting so long.
Free online (with free tickets)
20-28 March 2019
There you are. You need to get your free tickets before you watch, so today would be a great day. And as I’ve mentioned before, be sure to tell your family and friends. Why? Because the more interest that there is in the summit, the more policy-makers will sit up and take notice.
Besides, it’s easier to share about a free summit with lots of topics, than to say, “Guess what? I just found a cure to migraine on YouTube. Why aren’t you doing that?”
No – this is something that’s useful for everyone – those with headaches and migraine and those who care about them. By the way – here are some of the topics!
So let’s celebrate Shrove Tuesday by sending a strong message that we are interested in getting rid of migraine — forever! (And please forgive me for my poor event communication skills.)
