It’s being used for migraine and other types of chronic pain when other treatments haven’t worked. Here’s an interview with one patient about his experiences with the treatment. In his case, the pain was back pain.
Have you tried spinal cord stimulation for migraine? What was your experience?

Unfortunately, doesn’t work for everyone. Didn’t work for me!

I’d love to see the research behind this approach. A major part of my practice is headache and migraine. If an innovative approach can safely and effectively provide treatment, I’m all for it.

I have an occipital nerve stimulator; it’s been in for 1 1/2 years now. It helps, but probably takes about 30-40% of the pain. Others have had even better results. There’s a Facebook group with others who both have the ONS & those seeking info called ‘Occipital Nerve Stimulation’. It’s private but you can request to join.
