Denver Migraine Specialists?

I’m not sure how many more areas we’ll do, simply because it’s hard to keep information up-to-date in specific areas.  However, I’m continuing for now because there are a lot of people looking in areas such as Denver.

So – what would you recommend?  What migraine or headache specialist have you found in the Denver area who gives good quality care, who listens, who is committed to working with you to fight migraine and headache?

What have you missed out on because of a headache or migraine attack?  That was our most recent poll question.  Here are the responses:

As you can see, it’s the family that suffers most.  Family events accounted for at least 42% of events missed, including holiday get-togethers, weddings and funerals.  Work related events such as job interviews got over 12%.  And those enjoyable outings like concerts or sports events were missed by 11%.

Of course, the poll was asking what the most important event was that you’ve missed.  This will vary from person to person.  But it should also be pointed out that most of us miss many of these events, not just one.

Perhaps more often than not, we still attend the event, but do not enjoy it / are less productive / don’t really appreciate it.

Detecting child migraine

Child Migraine – catch it early to get the best treatment!

5%+ have an attack before age 15 (1/3 of those before age 5)!
Having 1 or more parent with migraine increases risk.

Possible symptoms to watch for:

  • Changes in temperament (temper, sadness, attention problems)
  • Nausea/vomiting/cyclical vomiting
  • Abdominal pain (typically 2 hours or longer)
  • Head pain (sometimes)
  • Car sickness
  • Flushed or pale
  • Shadows under the eyes
  • Visual aura (a small percentage of cases)
  • Sensitivity to light
