Last month I asked for your help in finding a headache/migraine doctor in San Francisco. I’ll announce the results of that search soon (but feel free to add more recommendations). I’m travelling at the moment and will have to get you the information when I get home again.

Just left the Diamond Headache Clinic after going there for over 15+ years of treatment. My old doc tried everything from experimental drugs to botox injections. Sadly, he retired in 2010.
Since then, the clinic has rid themselves of every knowledgeable person, and has steadily declined since their retooling.
Although their name is highly regarded, they have done quite a lot to tarnish their reputation. I CAN NOT and DO NOT recommend ANY physician here.
The Doctors at the Diamond Clinic do a terrific job. I’ve had migraines (without aura) since 2002 and have detailed headache diaries as well as a list of failed and partially successful treatments to match that time period. My physician, Alex Feoktistov, is current on a wide range of treatments and believes that each individual patient has the potential to be helped by a combination of preventive remedies. If you full participate in fighting against your migraine disease they welcome your input. You are encouraged to keep a headache diary to help track the cause and effect of your individual migraine pattern.
I go to Dr. Larry Robbins at Robbins Headache Clinic (Northbrook area) http://www.headachedrugs.com/ and highly recommend him. I’ve had migraine for more than 30 years and during that time have gone to 8 or 9 different neurologists -he ranks as one of the best. Highly knowledgeable, but also extremely personable.
Good Luck!
I’ve gone to the Diamond Headache Clinic since April 2009. Dr. Fred Freitag was my doctor until his retirement, and I respected him very much. My doctor now is Dr. George Urban, and I must say that he goes out of his way to try to help me in any way he can. I travel about 1200 miles to seek treatment at Diamond Headache Clinic, and I would recommend Dr. Urban. I have been told by other well-known migraine specialists that there was nothing more they could do for me, so I appreciate the compassion at Diamond Headache Clinic and for their willingness to listen to my suggestions and continue to try to find a combination of treatments that might help.
I was rrecently seen by Dr. Sam U. Ho a Neurologist @ Northwestern Hospital. He was refered to me by my GP who has migraines also.
I also like some of your other patients have been going to the Diamond Headache Clinic after several other doctors and nuerologists. I do strongly agree to the daily calender of symptoms with your meds to try to find your trigger points. Although during my time going to the clinic I have had two primary doctors. At this time I have gone extremely backwards. I would realy like to know if there is another top rated specialist with migraines to check into.
