Migraine and Headache: The Discussions of 2015
It’s that time of year again – time to look back to see which posts were the most popular of the year! Today we’ll look at the posts from this year, and next time we’ll check out the posts that were popular this year, but written in previous years.
So here’s what we’ve been talking about in 2015!
- Why You Should Ignore the “Daith Piercings for Migraine” Hype – this post elicited a lot of responses – mostly negative. I’ll be responding more to this one in the new year, but for now let’s just say that if daith piercings work for you, I’ll be the first one to cheer! 🙂
- The Migraine Brain: Very “Connected” – this post discussed some very cutting edge research into migraine, using neuroimaging techniques. This study gave us more insight into the biological side of migraine.
- Have You Tried the Icekap for Migraine? and A Review of Icekap – a startup got a lot of attention this year with a clever product that many migraine patients are finding useful. And – no drugs!
- Dizziness – Migraine – Could they be Dysautonomia Symptoms? – when a friend was diagnosed with dysautonomia, I learned just how widespread the issue actually is. The follow-up post was Dysautonomia and Migraine.
- The Best Medication for Migraine? The AHS Reports – which medications actually have the best scientific evidence behind them? The American Headache Society came out with their report early in the year.
- More Evidence that Green Veggies Fight Migraine – if there’s anything we’ve learned in the past few years, it’s that what we eat has a powerful affect on many diseases and conditions. This fascinating study confirmed this yet again, and reminded us that Mom was right.
- Whatever Happened to Levadex? – we’ve been waiting a long time for this migraine medication. The name was changed from Levadex to Semprana, and although I haven’t checked into the latest, at the moment it’s nowhere to be found on Allergan’s website.
- Why this Essential Oil may help, but won’t ever be popular… – and now, on to treatments that cost a fortune!
- Do you really have “Migraine”? – a plea to think twice before we’re satisfied with the diagnosis “migraine”. Should we be asking,”What kind of migraine?”
- A Migraine Trigger You Shouldn’t Ignore – triggers are much more than just food. Here’s a big one that we need to pay more attention to.
